Pilot version in plain language, October 2026. A lawyer will review it before Afaq charges anything or leaves the pilot.

1. What we collect

Your name, email, phone number and role; the posts you publish, and earlier versions of them when you edit one; the posts you tap “I’m interested” on, with any note you add; any post you report, with the reason; which posts you open and on which days you use Afaq, seen only by the Afaq team, to learn what is useful; and a record of key actions (like publishing or removing a post) for security. If the Afaq team added you after meeting you, it’s the same details, entered with your agreement. If you email us to ask for an invitation, we keep that email in our team inbox only to reply and decide on invitations; if we don’t invite you, we delete it within 6 months, or sooner if you ask.

2. Who sees what

Signed-in members see posts. A founder’s post shows the founder’s name. An investor’s post shows only an investor number, never the investor’s name. No member can see your email or phone number. The Afaq team can see everything, to run the pilot and make introductions.

3. How we use it

To run Afaq, to contact you about introductions you asked for or that someone asked for with you, to tell you by email when your post goes live or is removed, to keep the service safe, and to count how Afaq is used so we learn whether it’s useful. We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.

4. Sharing

We share your contact details with another member only after you agree to that introduction. Our service providers host the database, run the sign-in and send emails for us, and only use the data to do that.

5. Keeping and deleting

We keep your details while you have an account. If you sign up during the invitation-only pilot with an email we didn’t invite, we delete that login straight away. Deleting your account from your profile removes your profile, posts (with their earlier versions), interests, reports and the record of posts you opened straight away. Our own security record keeps only internal reference numbers, not your name, email or phone. If your account is suspended, or a post of yours has an open report, when you delete it, your login is removed right away, but we keep everything else hidden for 12 months in case it needs to be checked: your details, posts (with their earlier versions), interests and notes, reports, and the record of posts you opened and days you used Afaq. Then we erase it. If you were suspended, we then keep only a coded fingerprint of your email and phone number for 3 more years: the email can’t be used to join again, and a new account with the number is pointed out to the Afaq team. Whoever holds our database could work out the phone number, or check an email, from its fingerprint, so we protect it as personal data. Our weekly backups are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted. Our sign-in provider keeps a short technical log of logins, which includes your email, for security.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time. Delete your account from your profile, or write to hello@joinafaq.com for anything else.

7. Cookies

We use necessary cookies only, to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies. To count visits to our home, terms and privacy pages we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you.
